About the artist

Rebecca Seidel began faux finishing in 1996 under the tutelage of Christine Butcher of Paint Illusions (Now Vivaldi Design) in North Hampton, NH.  She started Faux Shui while living in Dover, NH in 2001.  Upon relocating in 2003, Rebecca established Faux Shui in Connecticut.  She still travels throughout New England upon reguest, but works primarily in homes in the Fairfield County area, where she now resides in Monroe.

Rebecca is a native of Connecticut, where she graduated from Choate Rosemary Hall in 1993.  She studied Studio Art and Philosophy at Wheaton College (IL).

In Collaboration With...

We enter many fine homes and feel a responsibility toward your privacy and peace of mind.  Rather than bring in unskilled labor to assist on large projects, we prefer to contract the services of other professional artisans.  Frequently called upon assistants include Heather Wilson (Freshwater Artisans) and Graham Doyle (Savannah Rennaissance).  Because we are asked to do anything from antiquing to restoration, gilding to mosaic work and more... it is not unusual for us to bring in an expert in a particular field; we are committed to maintaining the highest level of quality in our work.

If you are a professional in the decorative painting industry and would like to join our networking group, please use the contact form to inquire.
